Gender Equality Plan 2026–2028
About Us
081 Stand for Naples is a non-profit organisation founded by young Neapolitans in Italy and abroad. We promote civic engagement, innovation and social progress through volunteering, training, and impact investment. This plan expresses our commitment to making gender equality a foundation of our organisation and activities.
Purpose and Vision
Our Gender Equality Plan ensures fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities in every aspect of 081’s work — from leadership to project design. It aims to create a balanced, respectful and safe environment, while integrating gender perspectives into innovation and community action.
Governance and Accountability
The Board of Directors and the President oversee implementation. A dedicated Gender Equality Lead coordinates actions with the support of an Equality & Data Officer and a gender-balanced steering group. Annual progress updates will be shared publicly on our website.
Data and Transparency
We will collect and publish annual gender data on leadership, recruitment, volunteers, and program participation. These insights guide targets such as maintaining a 40–60% gender balance in governance and ensuring diverse panels and juries.
Our Commitments
- Inclusive Culture: Promote respect, non-discrimination and work–life balance for all. Provide flexible participation options and accessible events.
- Balanced Leadership: Ensure gender balance in all decision-making bodies and mentorship opportunities.
- Fair Recruitment: Use inclusive language, transparent criteria and mixed-gender panels in all selections.
- Programs with Impact: Integrate gender perspectives in startup competitions and training; recognise projects that advance gender equality.
- Safety and Dignity: Maintain a Code of Conduct with clear reporting routes and zero tolerance for harassment.
Capacity Building
All members, staff, and partners will receive training on inclusive communication, bias awareness and gender-sensitive project design. Special workshops will equip leaders and jury members with practical tools to ensure fairness.
Implementation Timeline
- 2026: Establish baseline, publish Code of Conduct, and begin training.
- 2027: Consolidate inclusive recruitment and mentoring.
- 2028: Evaluate outcomes and renew goals for the next cycle.
Communication and Review
This plan and its updates will be publicly available. Visual summaries and dashboards will show our progress and reinforce our accountability to members and the community.
